Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is set to release a report on Saturday detailing her medical history and health information. This move aims to highlight the differences between the 59-year-old Democratic nominee and her 78-year-old Republican opponent, Donald Trump, who is aiming to become the oldest individual ever elected to the Oval Office and has provided limited detailed information about his own medical background.
The report on Harris is expected to affirm that she possesses the physical and mental resilience necessary to effectively carry out the duties of the Presidency, including those as Chief Executive, Head of State, and Commander in Chief.
Concerns about age were significant for voters during President Joe Biden's reelection campaign. Biden, who is 81 years old, exited the race in July, allowing Democrats to emphasize a biographical contrast they had previously downplayed.
In November 2023, Trump shared a letter from his doctor, Bruce Aronwald, on social media, stating that Trump's overall health is excellent. The letter mentioned that Trump's physical and cognitive exams were within normal ranges and exceptional, respectively. However, Trump has not made his actual medical records public, and previous health memos have often contained exaggerated language.
Notably, Harris has never previously disclosed her medical records. She has mentioned on social media that her late mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris, who passed away from colon cancer in 2009, was a breast cancer researcher and advocated for breast cancer screening.
