Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign recently announced a successful fundraising effort, raising a total of $55 million between two high-profile events hosted by the Harris Victory Fund in California over the weekend.
The first fundraiser, held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Saturday, generated an impressive $27 million in donations. The event featured notable speakers such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a performance by singer Andra Day.
The second fundraiser took place at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live on Sunday, where an additional $28 million was raised. The event boasted a star-studded guest list including Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato, Jessica Alba, Keegan-Michael Key, and Sterling K. Brown. Attendees were treated to performances by Halle Bailey and Alanis Morissette.
Since President Joe Biden endorsed Harris and exited the race in July, her campaign has been actively engaging in fundraising efforts. In August alone, Harris raised nearly $190 million directly for her campaign, surpassing the $44.5 million reported by Donald Trump’s campaign during the same period.
Overall, Harris’ fundraising network revealed a total of $361 million raised in August, significantly outpacing Trump’s reported $130 million. This financial advantage has allowed Democrats to secure a substantial lead in advertising bookings for the upcoming fall season, particularly in crucial battleground states.
