Kamala Harris' campaign has announced the commencement of a new bus tour focused on championing women's reproductive rights and emphasizing the significance of the upcoming election, with reproductive rights remaining a pivotal issue leading up to November.
The 'Fighting for Reproductive Freedom' bus tour is set to commence in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, featuring Sen. Amy Klobuchar, campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, and a senior political commentator and reproductive rights storyteller. The tour aims to hold President Trump accountable for the potential repercussions of overturning Roe v. Wade, which could impact access to IVF.
This bus tour will encompass over 50 stops in crucial battleground states, highlighting the disparities between Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump's stances on reproductive freedom. Elected officials, celebrities, and Republicans supporting the Harris-Walz ticket will be featured, with the participation of Second Gentleman and First Lady of Minnesota Gwen Walz in the upcoming weeks.
The campaign asserts that each stop will underscore Harris and Gov. Tim Walz's commitment to reinstating protections of Roe v. Wade, while cautioning against the perceived threats posed by Trump and Sen. JD Vance's 'Project 2025' agenda, which aims to ban abortion nationwide, restrict access to birth control, and jeopardize IVF access.
As a prominent voice on reproductive rights within the Biden administration, Harris has spearheaded efforts to address this critical issue, launching the 'reproductive freedoms tour' earlier this year to mobilize voters for the upcoming election.
Furthermore, the campaign intends for the bus tour to bolster its organizing infrastructure by energizing supporters and volunteers through direct voter engagement activities such as field offices, canvassing, and phone banking. Additionally, the campaign plans to involve influencers to engage with online audiences, particularly targeting young voters.
