Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff conveyed their appreciation and hopefulness to supporters and donors at Queenie’s Supper Club following Harris’s speech at the Democratic National Convention held at the United Center.
During the gathering, Harris expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating, “Thank you for sharing this important day with us, but truly, thank you all so very much. We are truly invested in the future of our country. Our fight is truly and deeply born out of love for our country, and I know we’re gonna get this done, we’re gonna win.”
Emhoff also acknowledged their 10th wedding anniversary and praised Harris’s speech, mentioning that it exceeded expectations. He expressed confidence in her leadership abilities, stating, “You’re going to lead us to victory, and you’re going to be the next president.”
Reflecting on the convention, Harris emphasized the dedication of supporters, saying, “It’s been a wonderful convention, and so much of it is about everyone who is here who dedicates so much of your time and love to our country.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming election, Emhoff expressed his optimism for Harris’s presidential candidacy, stating, “I want to see her be president, so I’m gonna sleep on November 6, celebrating you becoming our next president.”
