Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has hailed the work done by both Angus Kinnear and Victor Orta during their time on the club’s board. The duo were appointed by Andrea Radrizzani back in 2017 after he took full control of the club and have overseen the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League.
All three have come in for a bit of stick from the club’s supporters in recent weeks after a couple of quiet transfer windows and the departure of much-loved manager Marcelo Bielsa. However, it is clear to see how determined each of them are for Leeds to be successful on the pitch, particularly in the case of Orta – who is never afraid to show his emotions in the stands.
Phillips is someone who has particularly thrived in the years that Radrizzani, Orta and Kinnear have been at the club – becoming one of the country’s best holding midfielders under the management of Bielsa. And speaking to the Official Leeds United Podcast, Phillips labelled Orta as one of the ‘most passionate people’ he has ever met and is happy that they are the men tasked with the running of the club.
He said: “They have the right people in charge, with Angus Kinnear in charge and especially Victor. I think Victor is one of the most passionate people you’ll meet about Leeds United.
"I love it, he’s so passionate, it’s nice to see someone come from another team and want to do so well with the club and getting back to where Leeds belong. He’s one of the main people that has always wanted Leeds to do well since he’s been in the job, and without him we would have struggled a lot more.”
