Kalidou Koulibaly's move to Chelsea has edged a step closer with Napoli having identified the main transfer replacement who turns out to be a former Spurs target.
The Blues finally got the Todd Boehly era underway on Thursday as the Raheem Sterling signing was finally confirmed in Los Angeles in a deal that could total £55million after add-ons are activated. Sterling got straight into the action as he was pictured in Chelsea training, where he got a better understanding of his teammates and more of a feel for what manager Thomas Tuchel wants from him.
Koulibaly could follow if and when his £34million transfer from Napoli is announced. Getting stuck into pre-season and acclimatising quickly to new surroundings is going to be vital if Tuchel's 'top quality' signings are going to make the desired impact they are expected to in trying to help close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool in 2022/23.
