Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has quite literally shown his former team the middle finger after being presented with his Super Bowl ring.
Toney was traded to the Chiefs from the New York Giants in the middle of the 2022 season, with the Giants letting him go for just a third-round pick, less than 18 months after selecting him in the first round.
It turned out to be an excellent move for Toney, who although having a limited role in the offense with Patrick Mahomes, went on to catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl going on to win his first championship.
But the former Florida Gator receiver clearly still holds some bad blood with his former team, after sending them a message after he was presented with his Super Bowl ring.
While in a YouTube video, Toney was getting his ring amended by an Atlanta jeweler, joked about getting it fitted for his middle finger and stating he would walk around in New York with it on.
While flipping the bird, Toney said: "Aye, this for everybody in New York right here. I'm gonna go to the middle of New York with my middle finger up. I love trolling. They tried to troll me, I've got something for 'em."
In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Giants selected Toney in the first-round pick - being an undersized but explosive wide receiver who had been compared to Tyreek Hill.
Toney struggled to live up to his draft hype in his first season, while struggling with injuries. But he showed NFL fans what he was capable of in a dominant performance against the Dallas Cowboys and star cornerback Trevon Diggs - went he had 189 yards in 10 catches as he broke Odell Beckham Jr's rookie record for receiving yards by a Giant.
Toney continued to struggle with injuries the following season, and was traded to the Chiefs for a third round pick - with the Giants essentially giving up on him.
He is now slated to have a big role in the Chiefs offense, after losing both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman this off-season. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid sad of Toney: "Kadarius did a nice job for us. He came in and did what we asked.
"We had to rest him for a while with the hamstring, we tried to get that back and I could see where he wanted to rush things back and get back in there — he loves to play.
"We backed up and let it heal and he was good after that. He was great, I don't know all the stuff there but I just know he was great with us. He fit right in and did a nice job."
