Juventus 'in talks with Anthony Martial' and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Juventus are in 'advanced talks' to sign wantaway Manchester United forward Anthony Martial on loan — according to reports.

Speculation over the France striker and his future continues to rumble on during the January window.

At the start of the month, the 26-year-old told interim manager Ralf Rangnick that he wants to leave United and the Premier League giants have already knocked back one loan approach from Sevilla.

However, with only seven days left to strike up a deal before the January window slams shut, it's Juve who have moved into pole position for his signature — despite Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene suggesting that it might not be possible on financial grounds.

According to Fichajes, the Old Lady have earmarked the Frenchman as a top target for this month.

It's claimed Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has urged key figures in the boardroom to sign Martial and the report says that negotiations have already been held between the clubs. That's despite the player making his first appearance under Rangnick during the 1-0 win over West Ham.

Elsewhere, reports from Spanish publication El Nacional claim United would be able to sign Federico Valverde this month if they offer €75million (£62million) for his services.

Currently with La Liga table-toppers Real Madrid, the Uruguay midfielder has not been a regular starter this season, playing 930 minutes across 16 league outings. According to the report, Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to sacrifice the player and United might look to swoop.

Valverde, 23, progressed through the Penarol ranks in his native Uruguay and signed for Real in 2016.

Spending time on loan at Deportivo, the central midfielder has played 126 matches at the Santiago Bernabeu and beyond and has more than five years left to run on his contract. He can fill in on the right side and has been capped 35 times by his country, scoring two goals.

Valverde is reportedly unhappy with the game-time that has been afforded to him by Real.
