Juventus are reportedly hoping that Liverpool will reignite their interest in centre-back Matthijs de Ligt in order to spark a bidding war with Premier League rivals Chelsea. The Dutchman moved to Turin in 2019 from Ajax for £65 million.
Thomas Tuchel's side are in the market for a defender after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona both on free transfers this summer.
With De Ligt having struggled for consistency since his big-money move three years ago, a number of top European clubs have become interested in possibly adding the talented defender to their ranks.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are the club to have made the most concrete move for the 22-year-old, but Juventus do not see their offer as acceptable as of yet. Bayern Munich are also said to have joined the hunt for the Dutchman.
Juventus's ideal situation would be for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain to get involved in wanting to sign De Ligt so a bidding war is then sparked between the clubs - driving the fee higher. The Old Lady are willing to accept a fee in the region of £85m for the young defender.
With Ibrahima Konate's addition last summer and Liverpool reportedly entering contract talks with Joe Gomez, a move for De Ligt seems extremely unlikely. The Reds have four top-class centre-halves already at their disposal.
