Juventus’ Alex Sandro has already dropped major £33m transfer hint amid fresh Chelsea ‘enquiry’

Juventus defender Alex Sandro has previously said that he has a desire to one day play in the Premier League, with Chelsea having reignited their interest.

The Brazilian left-back has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on many occasions in the past and the prospect of a switch appears to be on the cards once more.

Thomas Tuchel is keen to add a left-sided defender to his current options, with first-choice Ben Chilwell having suffered a season-ending injury - ironically against Sandro’s current employers Juventus.

A number of alternative names have been linked with an arrival in west London - chiefly among them being the likes of AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez and Sergino Dest of Barcelona.

However, a new, if slightly familiar name, appears to have been added to the Blues’ shortlist in the form of Sandro with reports from TuttoMercatoWeb claiming that the reigning European champions are interested in him once again having previously had a €40m (£33m) bid rejected for him in the past.

A move to Stamford Bridge clearly did not come to fruition, with negotiations between Juventus and Chelsea also set to get underway this time but even before that stage, the 31-year-old has already hinted that he is eyeing a move to England.

Speaking in 2018, he said: “I think that one day, who knows what will happen? I have a desire to play in the Premier League, but right now I am very happy where I am.

“I am happy with the club where I am, with the league where I am playing. So my only thought at the moment is to continue where I am.”

Of course, the latter part of Sandro’s statement might be a considerable blow to Chelsea but having originally made those comments over three years ago, his stance might well be different.

In his time in Turin since a big-money move from Porto, Sandro has gone on to rack-up 259 appearances for the Italian giants, playing a key role in five Serie A successes.
