Justin Timberlake’s attorney has vehemently denied allegations that the singer was intoxicated when he was arrested on DWI-related charges in June. The attorney stated that Timberlake was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI. During a recent hearing, Timberlake did not appear as it was not required. The attorney argued that prosecutors failed to obtain a superior officer’s signature on the initial charging papers, suggesting that the case should be dropped due to this error.
The attorney highlighted several mistakes made by the Sag Harbor police in Timberlake’s case, indicating that the paperwork mixup was just one of many errors. Despite the legal proceedings, Timberlake reportedly cooperated with law enforcement and respected the judicial process. The attorney expressed confidence that the charge would be dismissed.
Timberlake was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to keep right when he was taken into custody. A criminal complaint described his appearance and behavior, including bloodshot and glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol, and poor performance on sobriety tests. Timberlake admitted to having one martini but refused a breathalyzer test.
An eyewitness claimed Timberlake was intoxicated at a hotel, but a bartender contradicted this account, stating that Timberlake had only consumed one martini. Timberlake addressed the incident during his tour, acknowledging the challenges he had faced.
