Justin Timberlake was arrested on DWI charges in the Hamptons earlier this summer after being pulled over for running a stop sign and swerving into the opposite lane. The incident occurred following a night out at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, NY. Timberlake, 43, was reportedly in possession of a vape pen, a Rolex watch, a gold ring, and $306 in cash at the time of his arrest.
Upon failing a series of field sobriety tests, Timberlake was booked into jail but was later allowed to have a friend drive his BMW home. The Grammy winner, who is currently on a world tour, was reportedly following a couple back to their place when he was pulled over. Despite attempts by the couple to intervene, Timberlake was ultimately arrested.
Timberlake's lawyer has vehemently denied that his client was intoxicated, stating that the police made significant errors in the case. The lawyer claims that Timberlake was not drunk and should not have been arrested for DWI. Timberlake pleaded not guilty in court, but his license in New York state was suspended by the presiding judge.
Justice Carl Irace criticized Timberlake's lawyer for making 'irresponsible' comments and threatened him with a gag order if he continued speaking to the press. Irace encouraged the lawyer to raise the bar in his defense rather than lower it.
