Most star wide receivers can be seen as “divas” by people on the outside looking in. That couldn’t be further from the truth for Justin Jefferson. The newly extended wide receiver has played with several quarterbacks over his time in Minnesota, and although his preference remains the same, he has none.
In a media appearance on The Rich Eisen Show to promote the Netflix series “Receiver,” the All-Pro receiver squashed the idea that he prefers who is passing him the ball.
“It doesn’t really matter what quarterback it is in my eyes, I’m always going to make the best of the opportunity. Always going to try to be the QBs friend and make his job a lot easier. It doesn’t matter if it’s Kirk (Cousins) or if it’s Sam (Darnold) or it’s J.J. (McCarthy) I’m going to make it as easy as possible for them.”
I’m not sure there is a better answer you could want from any player at any position on their team. Jefferson is expected to remain a leader after his extension, making him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. It seems he is wasting no time in that department.
