Justin Herbert did not practice Wednesday, dealing with lower body injuries

Quarterback Justin Herbert did not practice on Wednesday as the Chargers began preparing for this weekend’s game against the Buccaneers.

At his media availability, Herbert the injury keeping him out of practice is a left ankle sprain. He also has a left leg contusion and said he’s also been dealing with swelling in his left knee.

Herbert said he suffered the ankle sprain on a scramble in the first half and played through it.

Herbert already sustained a right high ankle sprain. He said this sprain is not as bad as the sprain he was dealing with earlier this season.

When asked about practicing Thursday, Herbert said, “It really is day by day.”

In other injury-related news, wide receiver Jalen Reagor could miss some time due to a finger injury. Edge defenders Khalil Mack (non-injury related) and Joey Bosa (hip), and tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) did not practice.
