Justin Gaethje slams Michael Bisping for being "unprofessional" during UFC 286

Justin Gaethje has slammed UFC legend Michael Bisping for being "unprofessional" during his commentary for Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman's trilogy fight.

Edwards had the last laugh in his rivalry with Usman by winning a majority decision in the main event of UFC 286 in London to make the first defence of his welterweight title. 'Rocky', who won the belt against Usman in their rematch last August, executed a great gameplan as he took away the takedown offence of Usman across five rounds to win by scores of 48-46, 48-46 and 47-47.

Gaethje was in action in the co-main event as he won a hard-fought decision against Rafael Fiziev, with both men earning $50,000 bonuses for their performances. 'The Highlight' was not impressed with Bisping's commentary during the welterweight title fight and he thinks that Usman did enough did reclaim his belt.

"I thought he [Usman] won the fight, but I'm probably as biased as the judges," Gaethje said. "Certainly not as biased as Michael Bisping. He shouldn't have been nowhere near a microphone during that fight. It sucks... I just thought it was very unprofessional."

Gaethje also took a dig at Bisping when asked about Anderson Silva being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Saturday night, stating: "He's a legend, most of the fighters that are here today he inspired to be here. I thought he beat Michael Bisping in this place [O2 Arena] when they fought, but again, he got the same treatment Kamaru just got."

Fans have since given their take on Bisping's commentary as one user wrote: "I don’t find Bisping to be particularly biased, he’s just an awful announcer. [Jon] Anik barely speaks when Bisping is on a call because he never shuts up. Talks over exciting moments too, no announcer ruins an exciting moment like Bisping does."

One user defended Bisping by stating: "Leon clearly won the fight and don't think Bisping said anything wrong. You can be biased about your team mate but if a commentator sees something and says it then he is biased? I think that's salty."

Gaethje called for a fight against a lightweight contender ranked above him next and suggested he could face the loser of Charles Oliveira's upcoming fight against Beneil Dariush in May. The American also admitted that Dustin Poirier, who is ranked one spot above Gaethje, could serve as his next opponent.
