Justin Bieber is reportedly having a difficult time following the arrest of his former friend and mentor Sean “Diddy” Combs over charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
On Thursday, an insider source told Us Weekly that Bieber was in a “hard place mentally right now”.
“He has such a history with Diddy and the allegations against him have been hard to process,” the insider spilled.
Justin first met Combs after he signed on to Usher‘s record label alongside the rapper. Combs quickly took Bieber under his wing and there are multiple videos of the pair spending time together.
Another source told the publication that Bieber is “completely disgusted” by the allegations against Combs and that he has been instructed to “stay as far away as possible” from Combs and the scandal.
While Bieber has been spotted looking downtrodden around Los Angeles by multiple sources, a third insider claims that he has been much more focused on his new life as a dad to his baby Jack with Hailey Bieber than being caught up in Combs’ legal dramas.
“His happiness being a dad has outweighed his anxiety about Diddy,” the source explained, noting that the “Beauty And A Beat” singer wants “nothing to do” with Combs right now.
“It’s in his past, and that’s where he wants to leave it.”
Following the allegations against Combs going public, his relationship with Bieber — who was a child when they first met — has been facing significant public scrutiny. As a result, many videos of the early days of their friendship have been going viral, including one from 2009 entitled JUSTIN BIEBER’s 48 HRS with DIDDY!!.
In the vid, Combs says he has been “given custody” of Bieber for 48 hours.
“We [are] hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” Combs says in the video.
Combs is currently in custody after being denied bail. He is awaiting trial over charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. If he is convicted, he could be facing life in prison or a minimum sentence of 15 years behind bars.
Justin Bieber is yet to speak publicly on Combs’ allegations.
