HYDERABAD: In what could have a far-reaching consequence in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) elections, Justice (retd) L Nageshwara Rao on Monday debarred 57 clubs from voting/contesting the elections of the cricket body for one term or three years whichever is higher. The Supreme Court-appointed administrator also struck down the claims of the GHMC regarding ownership of 18 clubs in the cricket body.
"Mohit Parsham, learned counsel appearing on behalf of GHMC sought permission to withdraw the representation preferred by GHMC with liberty to pursue other remedies, if any. Granting permission to GHMC to pursue any other remedy available to it, request made for restoration of ownership by GHMC regarding the clubs mentioned in its representation is rejected," Justice Rao, who is a former judge of the Supreme Court, wrote in his 46-page order dated July 31.
