The Justice Department has announced that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland will not face prosecution for contempt, as stated in a letter sent to House Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday.

On Wednesday, the House voted to hold Garland in contempt of Congress due to his refusal to provide the audio recording of President Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur.
