ACTIVISTS from Just Stop Oil have thrown soup over two Vincent van Gogh paintings in response to two of their members being jailed for the very same act.
On Friday, two members of the campaign group were jailed for throwing soup on van Gogh's Sunflowers at London's National Gallery in 2022.
The judge handed down the sentence to Phoebe Plummer, 23, and Anna Holland, 22, with Plummer receiving a two-year sentence and Holland 20 months.
Shortly after the sentencing was announced, three protesters were seen throwing a soup over two van Gogh paintings in the National Gallery.
They have been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 14:40 on Friday, 27 September to the National Gallery after a group of Just Stop Oil protesters allegedly threw soup on a painting.
"Three people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and have been taken into custody. Inquiries continue."
A video of the incident was posted to X/Twitter by Just Stop Oil.

The footage shows an activist telling onlookers:
“There are people in prison for demanding an end to new oil and gas, something which is now government policy after sustained, disruptive actions, countless headlines and the resulting political pressure.
“Future generations will regard these prisoners of conscience to be on the right side of history.”
