Jurrien Timber says he will choose the destination of his next club carefully after confirming he will leave Ajax this summer - insisting a club's pedigree to challenge for trophies will be an important factor.
The 21-old has confirmed he will leave the Eredivisie giants at the end of the season, with Liverpool among the Premier League teams linked with a move.
However, Timber, who impressed during the World Cup as Holland reached the quarter-final stage before being knocked out by eventual winners Argentina, has admitted he is yet to decide on where he will be playing his football next season but has revealed the crucial factors that will ultimately decide his move.

Speaking to Dutch publication Ziggo Sport, Timber said: “It’s the same situation for me as last season. When I say I’m leaving, it has to fit. Important is the style of play and playing minutes. Competing for prizes is also important. My favourite country? I dare not say.
“That’s why I’m doing the same as last season. The chance is there, it can happen, but I’m also comfortable here. I’m still young and here everything also suits me. I’m going to watch quietly.”
Speculation linking the defender with a summer move to Anfield intensified when it was reported by Dutch publications that Timber's girlfriend was hunting for properties in Liverpool back in April, with the Reds said to be in the market for a central defender this summer as Joel Matip enters the final 12 months of his contract.
As it stands, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season as Jurgen Klopp's side sit fifth in the Premier League and just one point behind Manchester United who currently occupy fourth place and have played a game less than the Reds.
It is well-publicised that Liverpool will revamp their midfield after an underwhelming season on Merseyside, with Alexis Mac Allister, Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte all recently linked with moves to Anfield. However, Jude Bellingham, as it stands, will not be joining the list of any potential additions this summer
