Jurgen Klopp responds to 'devastated' statement and apology from Mohamed Salah
Jurgen Klopp understands Mohamed Salah's emotional response to Liverpool failing to qualify for the Champions League - and has dismissed fears over the Egyptian's mindset.
Salah posted a message on social media just moments after Manchester United's 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday night consigned the Reds to a fifth-place finish this campaign, saying he was "totally devastated" and there was "no excuse" for failing to make the marquee competition.
Next season will be the first since 2016/17 - the campaign before Salah arrived at the club - that Klopp's side are not competing alongside Europe's biggest hitters in the Champions League.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has reiterated Liverpool's love for Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian posted an apology to their dedicated supporters.
Top-scorer Salah issued a strong statement after Manchester United secured Champions League qualification with their comfortable 4-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford. As a result, Jurgen Klopp will prepare his players for Thursday night action in the Europa League next season.
Paul, who was beaten last time out by Tommy Fury, outlined his allegiances to the Anfield giants last season during their pursuit for an unprecedented quadruple. The famous American has been outspoken in his support of Liverpool; particularly this season during their dismal campaign.
