Jurgen Klopp may have dropped Liverpool transfer hint when he signed new contract

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously expressed the appeal of the club as the transfer window gets into gear with the Reds' pursuit of Darwin Nunez hotting up.

The German recently put pen to paper on a two-year extension at Anfield keeping him at the club until 2026. Despite Liverpool's season ending in disappointment after they were edged out of the Premier League title race and beaten in the Champions League final, the anticipation is bubbling as sporting director Julian Ward gets his feet under the desk.

Luis Diaz's arrival sparked a new dimension to an already ferocious attack and with Sadio Mane heading towards an exit, change looks to be afoot in L4. Talk of a departure amongst the attacking quintet was one that was frequently avoided but with interest intensifying over Nunez, the club appear to be taking action.

When signing his new contract back in April, Klopp gave a brief hint at what to expect ahead of the new transfer window, suggesting the Reds had a 'couple of things' to do soon. He said: "I realise that people are happy about (my new deal) and that's good. I'm very happy about it as well.

"It's for me, in this moment in time, it is the place to be. This club offers a lot. We are building a new stand again, it's a sign that we never stop trying to develop the situation.

"We have a team in the best age group, but, time is running, that's how it is. We have to do a couple of things. We don't think about changing the team in the next two or three years or whatever, but you have to prepare the little things so that you are ready for the future as well.

"It's always the same. That's why I really think it's a really good place to be or a good place to join - if not the perfect place. We want to offer emotion; we want to deliver excitement, we want to deliver that you really can buy in to it all."
