Jurgen Klopp ‘requests’ Liverpool scout World Cup star
Liverpool are being linked with potential interest in young Spain forward Nico Williams.
With the 2022 World Cup currently underway in Qatar, the Reds are likely to be keeping an eye on possible future signings across the tournament. Liverpool have seven players of their own involved in the competition in the Middle East.
One of the players being linked with a move to Liverpool is Williams. The Athletic Bilbao starlet appeared as a substitute in Spain’s 1-1 draw with Germany on Sunday night.

According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes , the Reds are one of two clubs looking at the possibility of signing Williams. Serie A giants Juventus are also being credited with an interest in the 20-year-old.
The report states that Liverpool are closely monitoring the player’s situation at Bilbao. Jurgen Klopp is also reported to have made the request for the club to track the progress of Williams.
Manchester United have also previously been linked with a move for Williams. However, the latest report states that it’s just Liverpool and Juventus currently showing an interest.

Cody Gakpo 'waiting for transfer' but Liverpool may face problem
Former PSV Eindhoven technical director John de Jong has explained how Cody Gakpo is keen on a move to Manchester United amid links with Liverpool.
The Reds have recently been credited with an interest in the forward, who is currently starring at the World cup for the Netherlands. Gakpo has scored two goals in his opening two fixtures in the competition in Qatar.
Gakpo’s form is likely to see interest in his services increase after the World Cup. During the summer transfer window, as the likes of Man United, Leeds and other clubs have been credited with an interest in him, as well as Liverpool.
Now fresh links with Liverpool have emerged, the topic of Gakpo’s future is up for discussion again - but there may be a problem for all but one club. De Jong has claimed that while there were other offers from the Premier League, it’s Man United who interested the player most.
“Cody has been waiting a long time for the transfer to Manchester United and it seemed to be coming,” De Jong told Dutch news outlet NOS on Sunday, via the Mail Online.
“A week before the end of the transfer window that fell through. After that he had two options in the Premier League, but you never know how that will turn out.
