Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool pair in stitches with cheeky dig after interrupting interview

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp aimed a cheeky dig at Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate during an interview with RB Leipzig's media channels following the pre-season friendly earlier this week.

The Reds stepped up their preparations for the new campaign on Thursday and beat the Bundesliga opposition 5-0 at the Red Bull arena. It was a welcomed return to their former club for Keita and Konate as they both signed for the Reds from the German outfit.

Keita made the move to Merseyside in 2018 after two years with Leipzig, while Konate only joined last summer. The pair started the 5-0 thumping and took part in an interview with Leipzig's media post-match alongside the manager.

The Liverpool boss had everyone laughing as he aimed a lighthearted dig at the players, saying: "These are two great guys you've given us!" When asked whether he was happy with the duo, Klopp jokingly added: "Yes, even though you played us a little and we paid too much money for them! We're still really happy."

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool against Leipzig before new signing Darwin Nunez got off the mark and scored the remaining four goals of the game. The win aside, Keita was pleased to return to his former club.

The midfielder said: "We are happy to be back in Leipzig. We love this team and they helped me a lot in my career. I just want to say thank you to them, they have a good team now. They are looking forward to their season and we wish them luck."
