Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers still have a “bright future” in the game after being dismissed by Chelsea and Leicester respectively, Jurgen Klopp has stated.
The Liverpool boss was speaking ahead of facing the Blues in the Premier League on Tuesday, when he will find Bruno Saltor in the opposition dugout having been named as Potter’s temporary replacement.
Klopp was already the longest-serving top-flight manager with seven-and-a-half years under his belt at Anfield, prompting him to joke that some think he should be next to go.
“The elephant in the room from your point of view is why I’m still sitting here... it’s crazy, last man standing,” he remarked to reporters.
“I respect them a lot, when I met them they were really good people - they are fantastic managers.
“But still things can go the wrong way and when the decision makers think they have to change, they change. We all accept that it’s part of the business. That’s it pretty much.
“It’s a strange week. [Antonio] Conte was last week, [Julian] Nagelsmann... and now these two. The season gets to a decisive part and people are afraid of maybe not reaching their targets.
“For all four of those I just mentioned, their football future is still bright so it’s not a disaster, just a situation they probably won’t like. But it’s part of the business.”
