Jurgen Klopp Humorously Shares Vision for Liverpool Under New Manager Arne Slot

Jul 22, 2018; Charlotte, NC, USA; Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp. | Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

When the next European soccer season rolls around, life will be very different in Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to leave the club at the end of the 2024 season—ending the reign of a man who had become as synonymous with the city as River Mersey. His last game is Sunday—against Wolverhampton Wanderers, at 10 a.m. on the East Coast in the United States—but his legacy will live on long after the end of his tenure.

Forced to regroup ahead of its first Klopp-free season since 2015, Liverpool is set to turn to Feyenoord boss Arne Slot. On Saturday, Klopp endorsed Slot with his usual wit.

"A really good manager is coming in, the club is in good hands," Klopp said, quoted by reporter Fabrizio Romano. "People might worry about the future but I’m not... I'm not thinking: my God, how will that all go? No, no... it's fine!"

If Liverpool fans want to feel good about Slot, they need only glance at the Eredivisie standings: Feyenoord is 25-2-6 and on the road to representing the Netherlands in the Champions League.
