Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has been urged to do what makes him "happy" by the man who epitomised playing football with a smile on his face, Ronaldinho.
The Egyptian's future is the subject of intense scrutiny as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield. He may have confirmed he is going nowhere this summer, but that does not necessarily mean he is intending to sign an extension with the Reds.
Barcelona icon Ronaldinho's advice for Salah, 29, was simple: enjoy your football and play for a club which allows you to do so. Speaking on a trip to Egypt, the former Brazil international, 42, said: "An advice to Salah regarding his future? The most important thing is for him to be happy.
"Football is a source of happiness and it must be no matter what club he plays for in the future. He has to keep playing football in a way that makes him happy because there's nothing better than playing football."
Salah has already set out just what makes him happy and the answer is not a particularly surprising one as it revolves around adding to his and his club's trophy cabinet. Speaking in October, he told Liverpool's official website : "I'm happy as long as the team keep winning.
"I'm trying to help always, to score goals and make the team win games - that's the most important [thing]. We have to give our best always to win something and I think we have the quality for that. We have a top team, so we have to push ourselves to the limit and try to win something."

"I'm sure everybody thinks the same," Salah added. That's what we need, just to keep in our head that we finish the season winning something." The former Chelsea and Roma star clearly had his heart set on lifting silverware this season - and his appetite has been more than satisfied.
The Reds have already scooped both domestic cup competitions on offer - the EFL Cup and the FA Cup - and, even though they fell just short in the Premier League title race, they have a Champions League final to look forward to on Saturday. Victory over Real Madrid this weekend would make Salah even happier while also giving him the revenge he craves after his heartbreak in 2018.
So, the prolific winger has made good on his ambition to win yet more honours with Liverpool, which he was sure would bring him happiness earlier this season. As such, Ronaldinho's advice for the player feels especially pertinent and likely serves as a boost as Jurgen Klopp aims to convince his star attacker to stay on Merseyside.
