Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp has used the remarkable turnaround of Marcus Rashford to illustrate what his squad must try and emulate to recapture their form.
The Anfield outfit have not won a Premier League game since squeezing past Leicester 2-1 on December 30 and travel to Wolves on Saturday in search of their first league away win since Boxing Day.
A number of players have alarmingly dropped off form with the squad hit by several injuries. Only Mohamed Salah (17 goals) and Darwin Nunez (10) have hit double figures this season with the team keeping just five clean sheets in 19 league outings.

They consequently sit ninth in the table having played at least a game fewer than their rivals. Liverpool face United in March but have the likes of Newcastle in the Premier League and Real Madrid in the Champions League to navigate past before then this month.
Liverpool decided to bring in just one player in January - Cody Gakpo from PSV, who was closely linked with a move to Manchester United. He is yet to score in his five appearances so far and now Klopp has sent a message to the whole squad about improvement.
He earmarked Rashford as a case in point. The attacker only netted five goals last season but currently has 18 to his name, not including the three he bagged for England at the World Cup.
Klopp used the 25-year-old, who won United’s January player of the month following his seven goals, as an example of what can be achieved when consistency is attained. “Of course some players didn’t reach the level that they have reached for us consistently,” he said.
“One of the best examples is Marcus Rashford, the season he had last year and this year. I’m not sure he can even explain it. That’s how it goes. The time between these two extremes, you have to fight through it.”
