Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool injury update and issues honest Mykhailo Mudryk and Chelsea verdict

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Darwin Nunez is in contention to feature for Liverpool against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

The £85million signing, who joined from Benfica last summer, has missed the previous two games through injury but is expected to make his return at Anfield tomorrow. When asked if Nunez is ready for the visit of Chelsea, the Reds boss simply replied: "Yes".

After Liverpool beat Wolves on Tuesday evening in the FA Cup third-round replay, Klopp was asked if he now has a selection headache because of the eight changes he made to his side at Molineux. However, the German has played that down somewhat.

"I've never had a headache about selection for ages. Let me see," Klopp told reporters. "If I have a headache, or if I get any information that gives me another headache. I'm completely fine, I hope they are all fit and ready, so let's see."

Klopp was also asked about Chelsea's newest signing, Mykhailo Mudryk, who was confirmed as the club's latest addition on Sunday afternoon. It sounds like the Liverpool boss is a fan of the 22-year-old, who is in contention to make his Chelsea debut at Anfield.

"[He is] a really good player," the German explained. "Incredible Champions League campaign; he has speed, technique, goals. He combines a lot.

"So having him on one wing and [Joao] Felix on the other is interesting. Chelsea sort problems differently to us, so let's see."

Graham Potter will be hoping his Chelsea side can pick up three points on Merseyside, which will be the first time since mid-October that the Blues have recorded back-to-back Premier League victories. Potter has come under pressure in recent weeks, although the 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at the weekend was some much-needed relief for the head coach. Klopp sympathises for his counterpart, though.

"It's a massive task to work for a big club," Klopp said when asked about pressure on Potter. "But in the best possible way, you ignore the size of the club. I have no advice to give, he doesn't need it. He's a fantastic coach, he's shown that for years and years, but with the amount of injuries, it's difficult. That's all."
