Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight over the confirmation that Liverpool and other Premier League clubs will be able to make five substitutions during matches next season.
It has been confirmed by the football governing body that clubs will be able to make five substitutions during a match, which comes into effect from next season. The change was made following a vote by Premier League shareholders on Thursday.
Nine players will continue to be named on the bench, and the substitutions can be made at three different intervals during a match. Most of the top leagues across Europe had implemented the five substitutes rule since the start of the pandemic, with the Premier League the only league to stick to three before this week’s announcement.
