Jurgen Klopp could lose 'incredibly important' Liverpool player amid contract uncertainty

Liverpool have yet to open contract talks with midfielder James Milner as the 37-year-old enters the final months of his current deal at Anfield, according to a report.

Jurgen Klopp has been outspoken in his admiration for the former Leeds and Aston Villa man after arriving on Merseyside from Manchester City under former boss Brendan Rodgers. Since the German's arrival, Milner has been a member of the squad which has won the Premier League, Champions League as well as both domestic cups in England.

The 55-year-old is keen to extend the midfielders terms in L4 after penning an extension last summer. But according to The Athletic, he has yet to open talks with the Reds hierarchy with his contract set to expire in June.
