Jurgen Klopp hasn't ruled out the possibility of strengthening his Liverpool squad before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.
The Reds have failed to win a Premier League game so far this season, drawing twice against Fulham and Crystal Palace, before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Manchester United. But they have had issues with injuries and were missing a number of key players, especially in midfield, for the trip to Old Trafford on Monday.
Thiago, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita were all absent for the clash, while Fabinho was only fit enough to make the bench. This meant Jordan Henderson and James Milner had to line-up in midfield alongside Harvey Elliott, and Liverpool were second-best in midfield as United dominated that area of the pitch.
Many pundits and Liverpool supporters have called for the club to sign another quality midfielder before the end of the window, with Jude Bellingham amongst those linked. When quizzed about signing anymore players, Klopp admitted that they are "working" on transfers ahead of Deadline Day.
He said in his pre-Bournemouth press conference: "We are working constantly on these things. Sometimes it's expensive, sometimes not the right player, but we're working. If something will happen or not, I don't know."
Liverpool have been heavily linked with moves for plenty of midfielders this summer, and those calls for reinforcements have been strengthened by Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Naby Keita all missing games early in the season with injury problems.

Jamie Carragher is also adamant that Liverpool need to sign a midfielder. He told Sky Sports: "Liverpool need a midfield player, not in terms of the number of the squad or to beef it up, they need someone to go and play and Liverpool feel that is not available right now. I would stick with what Liverpool do where they don’t panic, don’t do things because they’ve got to go get someone.
"Jurgen Klopp isn’t daft, Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, they’ve got a good midfield but they’re all over 30 and that’s not ideal for any team. Especially when you want to play as intense as Liverpool do.
"They’ve got numbers in there but in terms of quality, Liverpool need a midfield player. If it was available Liverpool would buy him but they’ve obviously got something lined up they feel then. There’s no doubt Liverpool need more in midfield, midfield is the one glaring part of the team that stands out that can’t go against Manchester City when you see the quality in there."
