Junior Bake Off fans claim show is a 'fix' as hopeful scrapes through to next round

Junior Bake Off fans have claimed the show is "fixed" after the "wrong" person left during tonight's show.

The latest episode of the Channel 4 junior baking show saw a string of young hopefuls take on a number of baking challenges in a bid to make it through to the next round and eventually lift the coveted trophy.

However, some viewers tuning in to watch the show wanted Mia to be saved over Gabriel, despite both of them putting in a great effort with their performance.

It was dessert week this week and the young contestants were tasked with trying to create a rainbow baked Alaska, with Gabriel admitting he had never heard of the dessert - but still insisted he'd give it his best shot.

However, he made a huge mistake and forgot to add butter and sugar to his mix, meaning he had to take the tray out of the oven and add those. The other bakers had similar problems in the kitchen, with their desserts melting in front of their eyes.

Gabriel's Alaska was described as "too sloppy" and "not airy enough" by the judges and he ended up in last place, desperate to redeem himself with his showstopper, which was a lemon drizzle cake shaped as his favourite takeaway of fish and chips.

Mia decided to make an orange flavoured buttercream pizza cake inspired by the Italian delicacy.

After the tough baking tasks, Gabriel managed to scrape through to the next round - with Mia exiting the show. Reflecting on his exit, Gabriel said he felt the judges "didn't have the heart" to send him home as he admitted he "dodged a bullet".

However, some angry fans took to Twitter to claim the show was a "fix".

"Wow, Gabriel dodges going home again - he wasn't great today but still keeps getting through. #JuniorBakeOff," one wrote.

A second added: "Gabriel dodged another bullet," as a third shared: "Gabriel staying again?!?!? Got to be a fix."

"Gabriel should have gone on week one - this is an absolute fix," a fourth penned.
