June Brown’s fans have been flocking to social media to share their favourite memories of the EastEnders actress following her death.

Fans couldn’t stop talking about her unlikely friendship with Lady Gaga which blossomed on The Graham Norton Show.

The Dot Cotton star and Born This Way singer were instant friends when they met on the BBC chat show back in 2013 and the rest is history.

When Brown - who was still sporting her coat - sat down next to Gaga, they hit it off instantly.

The House Of Gucci star told Brown: “I am a really big fan of yours. You are so fabulously dressed. I am honoured to be sitting next to you.”

She then picked up her wine glass, adding: “I want to drink from your cup to see what those genes are.”

“Truly iconic,” one fan wrote among the comments on social media on Monday.

Others wrote: “What an absolute diamond. Her and Gaga being besties on Graham Norton is one of my favourite TV moments of all time.”

“June Brown always seemed like such good fun. I will forever love this moment she had with Lady Gaga.”

Their friendship continued after the cameras had finished rolling.

Brown later revealed Gaga had invited her to a party which she sadly had to decline.

"[Lady Gaga] is lovely. She’s a very intelligent girl. She was very respectful it was like she knew me," she said at the time.

"We sort of took over. I did ask Graham Norton if I should go and sit on his lap. I don’t know if he was very happy about that.

"She invited me to a private thing, unfortunately I was doing Piers Morgan the next day. I’m not showing off, I’m telling the truth and I had to be in early and you’re in all day long.

"I can’t go clubbing if I’ve got to be alert the next day."

Brown’s family broke the news the beloved star had died at the age of 95.

Her EastEnders co-stars including Adam Woodyatt and Danny Dyer have paid tribute to their former co-star, hailing her as “an incredible woman”.
