July France's hottest month since records began, says national weather service

July this year was the hottest month in France since records began in 1900, according to meteorologists. It was also France's third-driest July, with rainfall nearly 70 percent below average.

Météo-France said on Tuesday that July ​2026 had an average ​temperature of 24.9 degrees Celsius – surpassing the previous ​records of an average of ‌24.8⁠C in August 2003, and 24.4C in July 2006.
