Julian Nagelsmann has been sacked by Bayern Munich less than three weeks before they face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The German side are in danger of failing to win the Bundesliga for the first time in 10 years, with a 2-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen leaving them a point off league leaders Borussia Dortmund going into the international break.
Back-to-back wins against Paris Saint-Germain both home and away saw them progress into the last-eight of the Champions League in February, but with a crucial month to follow after players return from representing their countries, those in charge at the Bavarian club have taken swift action.

Bayern face title rivals Dortmund in a massive first game back on April 1, before a league-cup double-header against Freiburg and then the first leg of their quarter-final clash with City at the Etihad. Another Bundesliga meeting with Hoffenheim is then sandwiched between that and the return tie at the Allianz Arena.
Thomas Tuchel has been installed as Bayern's new boss, the German having being sacked by Chelsea last September following just three wins from their opening seven games in all competitions and reports of a disconnect between himself and new owner Todd Boehly.
Tuchel's last mid-season appointment saw him arrive at Stamford Bridge in January of 2021, going on to lead them to a Champions League final win over City with Kai Havertz scoring the winner in Porto.
City face a crucial opening returning weekend of their own when they host Liverpool. The Blues are currently eight points behind league leaders Arsenal and can barely afford to drop any more points in the title race with 11 games left.
