Julian Nagelsmann met with Chelsea representatives on Monday in a face to face meeting as the Blues' search for a new head coach intensifies. The young German has been outlined as one of the favourites for the vacancy alongside former Spain boss Luis Enrique who travelled to London for talks with the club at the beginning of the month.
As football.london reported, Enrique was in London on April 5, 2023 for talks regarding Chelsea's managerial position. After later being spotted emerging from an airport in Spain on the same day as his meeting, the 52-year-old was flocked to by reporters.
"If you do the famous haka, I'll answer you," the coach replied when asked about his time in London. "I come from Formentera! It's wonderful, a paradise island," he added, refusing to be drawn on any connection to the Chelsea job and whether he was involved in the reported talks.

Nagelsmann has now joined Enrique for an in-person meeting at Chelsea. The 35-year-old, who is keen to coach in the Premier League, was surprisingly sacked by Bayern Munich in March despite only overseeing three defeats in the 2022/23 season.
London rivals Tottenham are also interested in Nagelsmann but any immediate plan to appoint him looks unlikely. As reported by German outlet Bild, any club wanting to hire Nagelsmann before the end of the season would have to pay a large compensation fee to Bayern.
Also included in the Sky Sports report was the fact that Chelsea's legal team have been in conversations with the German club in an attempt to understand the level of compensation needed if Chelsea decide Nagelsmann is the man they want.
Despite now holding pivotal new manager talks with Enrique and Nagelsmann, the interim role Frank Lampard has been handed looks to remain intact. Chelsea's former midfielder was handed the reigns on a temporary basis following the sacking of Graham Potter, however he is yet to pick up a victory since arriving, losing three games on the spin.
Up next for Chelsea is the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening. The Blues lost 2-0 in Spain and therefore must overturn that deficit if they wish to advance into the competition's final four.
