Jules Kounde could save Chelsea £85m Wesley Fofana transfer as £15m Aubameyang bid made

In a massive transfer U-turn, Jules Kounde could yet save Chelsea this summer.

The Frenchman was one of the biggest sagas this window and joined Barcelona despite the Blues twice being extremely close to securing the centre-back in the last 12-months.

Todd Boehly has since turned his attention to Wesley Fofana but with Leicester demanding a world record fee fora defender of £85, there could yet be a way Kounde saves Chelsea.

Aubameyang offer made

Chelsea have made an offer of £15m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but it also includes Marcos Alonso going the other way.

The deal highlights a key transfer strategy being used by Todd Boehly this summer but could ultimately follow the same unsuccessful route of the other deals as the Catalan club hold out for a cash offer worth £25.5m. Barcelona have previously held interest in Alonso and have wanted to sign him this summer, but they are in a position as to which they need more cash in order to register Kounde.

Fofana punishment

Wesley Fofana might have played his last game for Leicester as reports suggest he will be dropped from the side with the upcoming match against Southampton.

Rodgers has already said, "If the players aren’t totally focused and committed to the club and being here, or for whatever reason just aren’t in the right mindset, that won’t help us," and has now made a key choice with his French defender.

According to the Athletic, Fofana himself asked to removed from the squad, though other reports state that Rodgers has made the choice himself.
