Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard has been closely following the closing arguments presented by prosecutor Sheila Ross and defense attorney Kaitlyn Beck in the murder trial of Jose Ibarra. Once both sides have concluded their arguments, Judge Haggard will be tasked with determining whether Ibarra is guilty or not guilty of the crime.
Prior to the trial commencing, both the prosecution and defense agreed to a bench trial for Ibarra. This arrangement stipulates that the judge, rather than a jury, will be responsible for rendering the final verdict in the case.
