Judge Rules Trump Violated Gag Order In Jury Comments

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

Judge Juan Merchan's recent ruling found that former President Donald Trump violated the court's gag order by commenting on the jury selection process in his ongoing legal case.

During an interview on a program called 'Just the News No Noise' on Real America's Voice, Trump criticized the speed at which the trial was progressing and raised concerns about the political affiliations of the jury members.

Trump stated, 'You know [the judge is] rushing the trial like crazy. Nobody's ever seen a thing go like this. That jury was picked so fast - 95% democrats. The area's mostly all democrat. You think of it as a - just a purely democrat area. It's a very unfair situation that I can tell you.'

Judge Merchan ruled Trump's comments on jury selection violated gag order.
Merchan emphasized Trump's remarks questioned legal proceedings' integrity and jurors' safety.

Judge Merchan determined that these comments directly violated the gag order that had been put in place. In his ruling, Merchan emphasized that Trump's remarks not only questioned the integrity of the legal proceedings but also raised concerns about the safety of the jurors and their families.

Prosecutors had accused Trump of violating the gag order on multiple occasions, including comments about the jury, David Pecker, and Michael Cohen. However, the judge concluded that only Trump's statements about the jury selection process crossed the line.

Trump's disregard for the gag order highlights the challenges of ensuring a fair and impartial legal process, particularly in high-profile cases. The ruling serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting court orders and upholding the integrity of the judicial system.
