A federal judge in New York ruled on Monday, 26 October, that the Trump administration unlawfully fired Maurene Comey, a career prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey.
The ruling granted her retroactive reinstatement and back pay following her dismissal in July 2025. The decision followed Comey's lawsuit challenging her removal from the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
