Efforts to bring Jude Bellingham to Liverpool next season could all be for nothing, according to one report.
The Reds have now long been heavily linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who has emerged as one of the hottest young players in Europe.
The 19-year-old is under contract with the German club until 2024 and any sale would likely be well in excess of £100million for a key member of Gareth Southgate's England World Cup squad.

But according to the Mail journalist Mike Keegan, Bellingham's likely next destination is not Liverpool at all, but Premier League Champions Manchester City.
Keegan Tweeted: "Those with knowledge of the situation reckon Jude Bellingham ends up at Manchester City. Relations between both clubs very strong post-Haaland & told initial conversations have been held. A great World Cup may price him out this summer but he’s not seeing out his contract."
City signed Bellingham's former teammate Erling Haaland from Dortmund last summer in a deal worth £51.2million. The Norwegian has been an instant success in the Premier League, firing a stunning 18 goals in 12 appearances already. But Liverpool also have strong ties with the Bundesliga club, thanks to Jurgen Klopp's successful seven-year stint as manager, when he won two Bundesliga titles.
