Jude Bellingham shuts down 'disrespectful' Manchester United transfer rumours

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has insisted that it would be 'disrespectful' to discuss transfer rumours amid links with Manchester United.

The 19-year-old, who turned down United to join the Bundesliga outfit from Birmingham City in 2020 amid serious interest from the Reds, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer. Bellingham has emerged as one of the biggest talents in world football since joining Dortmund, making 98 appearances for the German giants and registering 12 goals and 18 assists.

Reports have surfaced again linking Bellingham with a move to United, with it likely that he will leave Dortmund in the summer of 2023.

However, Bellingham has since dismissed speculation surrounding his future - with the youngster adamant that he does not want to disrespect Dortmund.

Speaking to PA about his future, he explained: "The club has done loads for me, made me feel very welcome and given me the opportunities to develop further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful."

The England international, who has made 15 appearances for the Three Lions, is under contract at Dortmund until June 2025. He has watched on as former teammates of his, Erling Haaland and now Manchester United man Jadon Sancho, have completed big-money transfers to the English top-flight.

It remains to be seen whether Bellingham will move on from Dortmund in the summer, but it appears that United will be one of many suitors should the midfielder express a desire to return to England.
