Jude Bellingham sends message to Tahith Chong after Manchester United loanee scores for Birmingham

Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham has praised Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong for scoring his first Birmingham goal after a long injury layoff.

Chong opened the scoring inside three minutes for Lee Bowyer's side as he fired them on course to three points against Bristol City. It was the 22-year-old's first start for the Championship side since he was forced to endure an extended period on the sidelines following groin surgery.

Prior to his setback, he had established himself as a key figure at St Andrew's with the Birmingham boss left distraught by the injury to the winger. Despite doubts over whether he would feature in their blue shirt again this season, he has recovered quickly and got his rewards with a goal on his comeback.

Celebrating on Instagram, Chong posted a selection of pictures from their triumph at Ashton Gate: "What a feeling to be back after 4 months and getting a goal. Massive 3 points and a great team performance. I’M BACK." The message was liked by a host of United players including fellow Birmingham loanee Teden Mengi.

England international Bellingham was also quick to praise Chong, commenting: "Yessir." Bellingham shone for the Blues prior to his move to Borussia Dortmund and his younger brother Jobe Bellingham also made his bow for the Midlands side this season.
