As the nation prepares to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, many are planning barbecues, garden parties and even whole street events across the country. And shoppers can really get into the Jubilee spirit with a patriotic outfit, too.
Now, we’re not saying go full-blown Geri Halliwell in a Union Jack dress - though Asda and Matalan have both launched flag-themed looks.
However, adding a red, white or blue piece to your wardrobe can see you enjoy the celebrations with a royal-worthy outfit, without it being too OTT so you can wear it again and again.

But a new outfit doesn’t need to break the bank, either, with some of these outfits starting from as little as £4.50.
We’ve scouted PrettyLittleThing, Boohoo, Nasty Gal and Everything5Pounds for their best red, white and blue, dresses, tops, jumpsuits and more - perfect for partying your way through the four-day bank holiday.
For a casual look, PLT have launched a white t-shirt which has the slogan ‘God save the Queen’ on the front, which also comes in navy. The cropped tee is £8 and comes in sizes XS to XL, ideal for pairing with denim jeans and white trainers, or a pair of heels and a blazer.
One outfit that could be worn two ways is this blue blazer dress , which could be worn open with the look above, or buttoned up for a more statement look, styled with strappy heels and gold accessories. The blazer - available in sizes 4 to 16 - costs £39 down from £45, with an additional 10 per cent off with the code EXTRA10 at the checkout.
For a real boujee look, the red extreme split strappy back maxi is stunning for £29 , and would double up as a great wedding guest outfit or races dress throughout summer. Available in sizes 4 to 16, PLT said: “Team with barely there heels and statement earrings for a look that will have all eyes on you.”
But if you are strapped for cash this Bank Holiday weekend, the online retailer do have some cheaper options too - some of which are under a fiver. For example the basic red extreme plunge strappy bodycon dress for £4.50 , but is selling fast, with sizes 6 and 8 already sold out.
