The Western Sydney Wanderers have made a significant signing ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 A-League Men season by securing the services of World Cup-winner Juan Mata. The 36-year-old Spaniard joins the Wanderers as a free agent after departing J1 League side Vissel Kobe, where he was part of the championship-winning squad.

Mata brings a wealth of experience and success to the Australian football scene, having enjoyed trophy-laden spells with top clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Valencia, and Galatasaray. His crowning achievement came with the Spanish national team, winning the 2010 World Cup.
