Joy for three Leeds families as they scoop nearly £400,000 on Postcode Lottery

More than 400 Leeds homes have shared a multi-million pound prize between them after winning the postcode lottery.

In Moortown, Leeds, 438 homes were the lucky winners of the People's Postcode Lottery with each household winning a share of the £3.2 million prize. Every player in the LS17 6 area won a prize ranging between £4,348 to £17,392 depending on how many tickets they bought.

Three winners were even more lucky to find out they had the full winning postcode of LS17 6JE. Each of them got a cheque for £369,235.

People's Postcode Lottery presenter, Judie McCourt, hosted an event for the winners. She said: "I'm over the moon for our Leeds winners, what a great day it's been for them. I can tell the neighbourhood here is really friendly and I'm sure there will be a party or two taking place tonight!"

This prize was part of a draw promoted by the Postcode Earth Trust which provides funding to groups which "raise awareness and understanding of the natural, creative and built environment."

The People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription service where you pay £10 per month and sign up with your postcode. It raises money for charities with 33% of the ticket cost going to charity as well as giving out prizes.
