Jota set to complete Celtic transfer this week as Portuguese wing king closes in on permanent move

Celtic expect to make the signing of Portuguese wing king Jota permanent this week.

The 23-year-old star’s representatives are due to hold a final round of talks that should seal his £6.5million move from Benfica.

Jota has been a key figure in Ange Postecoglou ’s Double-winning side, netting 13 times in a memorable season.

Celtic signed Jota on-loan from Benfica in the summer but with an option to buy.

They have now exercised that right and have all but agreed personal terms which will see his move to Glasgow become a permanent one.

Celtic are also edging close to a similar deal with defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

He is on-loan from Tottenham Hotspur but Celtic also have the option to buy him for £6 million.

Record Sport revealed earlier this week that Carter-Vickers had agreed terms with Celtic over a permanent move.

It was now left between Celtic and Spurs to get a deal done before the clause deadline.

It is expected Celtic will sign both as Postecoglou has indicated he sees both as key figures.

Celtic has also been boosted by automatic entry to the group stages of the Champions League.

Postecoglou has now left his recruitment team to work on options with a left-back, central defender and another centre forward on his wanted list.
