Portuguese wing king Jota will remain at Celtic next season after he told Benfica he sees his future in Glasgow.
It has been reported in his homeland Jota has informed the Lisbon club of his decision.
The 23-year-old has been a huge success at the champions-elect since joining on loan last summer.
He was coy when asked about his future following the win over Ross County two weeks ago that helped place Celtic on the brink of winning back the title.
But now it has been claimed in Portuguese media outlet Jornal Noticias Celtic will exercise the £6.5million option as new Benfica head coach Roger Schmidt finalises his plans for season 2022-23.
But Jota’s team-mate at the Stadium of Light, Florentino will return to Portugal’s capital having been on loan at Getafe.
The move will be a massive boost to Ange Postecoglou as he prepares an assault on the Champions League group stage, which was confirmed on Monday by UEFA.
