Jota in Celtic transfer delay as winger snapped at music festival while Parkhead stars return for pre season

Celtic have returned to Lennoxtown as they gear up for the 2022/23, but there is one face missing. Fans will be hoping that star man Jota will join Ange Postecoglou and his side sooner rather than later.

Supporters have responded to the snaps taken during Monday's training sessions with the words 'announce Jota ' posted repeatedly, with many desperate to see last season's loan star put pen to paper on a permanent Parkhead transfer. But there seems to be a delay in the proposal, with the player spotted at a music festival in Portugal.

An agreement with Benfica for the winger has been reached in a deal worth £6.4million - with an announcement likely to be as early as this week. The Portuguese star made himself a hero in Celtic 's double silverware winning season last time out and it is only a matter of time before an official unveiling takes place.

But for now the winger is focusing on continuing his summer fun with the latest update showing him enjoying a festival in his homeland alongside pal André Horta of Braga. Despite the deal being all but agreed, Hoops fans will have to remain patient for now before they see the fan favourite back at Lennoxtown.

Celtic are also in the market for a number of new faces this summer. Left back Alexandro Bernabei is set to put pen to paper, making the move to Glasgow's east end from Lanus.

The 21-year-old is closing in on a five year deal with the Scottish champions in a move worth in the region of £3.75million. After arriving in Glasgow for a medical, the deal could be confirmed within the week.
